This is quite interesting concept that " US will be less affected as such by climate change" - this is dim view considering the fact that - US relies on an outsourced economy.

The impact of climate change will not spare geographical states, it will impact directly on farming, water, air quality through unpredictable weather patterns (cyclones, flooding) all which are impacting on the US right now as we discuss this phenomenon.

It is wrong to assume that Climate change is something we are waiting for and the impacts will be in the future, they are happening right now - globally!!

I’m considering joining the World Wealth Society, a group started by thought leader, James Arthur Ray (I’m a big fan) and wanted to see if anyone had any tips or info about going carbon neutral as a business owner. One of the requirements of the society is, as a business owner, to take your company carbon neutral and to set up an environmental policy. I’m totally onboard, but frankly, I’m a little intimidated and would love to hear from some other business owners who have done this and what the costs and time commitments are to make this happen. James talks about why we need to do this in his book, Harmonic Wealth (check out the Relationship chapter – as in relationship with the world! – on page 133), but I’d love some more specifics. If you are interested, check out his website: www.jamesray.com or www.harmonicwealth.com.

Thanks!

I will have 12, almost 13 acres in the flattest part of Morgan Co Indiana. I'm interested in who I might contact (the electric co?) on the feasability of putting up wind turbines. This acreage is less than 40 miles from Indianapolis. Would there be a partnership of some kind? This is an area of new housing growth, but this acreage is close enough to benefit the housing without being next door to it. Any information would be welcomed and appreciated.

There is a very clear conflict between addressing climate change and calling for more oil to be pumped to keep down prices that might otherwise make renewable fuels more attractive.

But it is because of the conflict politicians find themselves in and once again demonstrates the need for simultaneous action on climate change, peak oil and other global issues.

The Simultaneous Policy campaign brings people together around the world to discuss, develop and ultimately approve the policies they wish to see implemented.

For comments on Gordon Brown's recent lobbying of oil producers see:

“Without effective and enduring incentives to make these investments, the fact remains that our next generation of power stations will simply replicate the failings of the past and continue with a needless waste of valuable heat. It really is time to stop fiddling as gas burns.”

True that.

Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, has said he supports the use of a market to reduce carbon emissions by 80 percent below 1990 levels by 2050. His proposal would require pollution credits to be auctioned rather than given away to big industries, including coal and oil companies.

McCain favors giving permits away to big polluters before moving to an “eventual” auctioning of permits to reduce emission levels 60 percent below 1990 levels by 2050.

Hmmm, if there was any question of who I'd vote for....

Hi,
Your site has some interesting information but this page under 'education' is confusing - there is no explanation of where this masters programme is located, costs, entrance requirements, etc. Given the importance of energy education it is suprising that this is the only content you have.
